Male names are great too. After all, I don't know what the egg will hatch into. I'm just... not really good at coming up with names, so I always try to have a few prepared before my eggs hatch.

Well, at least you're planning ahead. I just name most of my Pokemon after figure skating moves. [Like she did with her own kids.]

I didn't know there were enough different moves to name all your pokemon after.

[Armin has limited knowledge of figure skating. Of any organised sport, really. They just don't have it back home. They have some games, but those are hardly comparable to the structured ways of professional sports in other worlds.]

There are a lot of names for jumps and techniques. I guess I won't have to worry about running out of names for a while, at least. Though I have named a few of mine after other figure skaters, or people I know...

[Just then, Yulia the Liepard comes in and starts rubbing against Yuuko's arm, purring loudly. Yuuko just smiles and scratches behind one of her ears.] Like Yulia here, for instance.

It seems a lot of people do that sort of thing. I've thought about it but I can't help but think things like... what if the personality doesn't end up being right. I mean, when you name your pokemon, you don't really know them very well, right? What if they turn out to have the sort of personality that is completely different from the person you named them after? Most pokemon don't just let you change their names.

[A pause.]

...admittedly I might be overthinking things. My friends say I do that when it comes to names.

I can see why you'd think that way, but I just try to keep in mind that it's just a name, and two people having the same name will still be different people. I know two people at home named Yuri, and they're complete opposites.

So, what about this Yulia? Was she another figure skater or a friend of yours?

Oh, actually...she's named after one of the Yuris I mentioned. "Yulia" is just the female version of his name. [At least in Russia.]

Yes, he is another figure skater. And a friend. At least, I hope he considers me a friend now. [Yurio is not the type who makes friends easily.]

Well, how should I put it...he's not the friendliest person around. I've stayed in touch with him since he went back to his home country, but sometimes it's hard to tell if he considers me a friend or not. Apparently he's started opening up to other people more, so that's a good sign, at least.
